In life's crucible, joy, hard experience, and determination are tempered into a vehicle for creative survival. Six women artists chose to share that journey. Through creative road trips, pot lucks, protests, and hikes in the woods their stories unfolded. Shared experiences were discovered. And they showed up for each other in ways that built trust and friendship.
Images above are representations of the type/caliber of work, not necessarily actual work, and subject to availability. Exhibitions of 12-72 works are possible.
This exhibition brings together these six women artists whose works embody resilience, metamorphosis, and the generative power of community. Through sculpture, mixed media, painting, and installation, the DAF Collective forms a unified voice — one that holds space for vulnerability while insisting on transformation.
These artworks do not merely depict life; they emerge from it. Problems, trauma, lineage, and memory become materials. Color, form, and texture evolve into tools of reclamation. Individually, each artwork tells its own story.
Together, they form a powerful arc: These works create an exhibition that is not merely a display, but a shared act of witness and affirmation. It is rooted, weathered, and yet irrepressibly alive.
Material transformation — from raw to refined, from found to sacred, from common to iconic—becomes a metaphor for mending, healing, transformation. The tension between fragmentation and wholeness turns constraint into creative fuel.
Navigating the emotional and psychological cosmos inner life—like the outer cosmos—is vast, messy, and full of possibility: chaos becomes pattern, fragmentation becomes constellation, individual marks become a shared sky.
From hardship emerges something sacred, protected, and enduring. Trauma creates hollow spaces, but those spaces can become sites of transformation. Memory-scapes create a dialogue between body and history, structure and improvisation. Emblems of everyday endurance anchor the exhibition in materiality and earth. The visual flow of the works allow space for the full range of human emotions, but gently rocks the viewer upward. It holds space for vulnerability, but provides needed light to mend.
